In HGSS, there is a pokéfan in the area south of Silence Bridge who tells you to "bow down before my regal pokémon" and has a team of "king" themed pokémon: -Nidoking -Slowking -Magikarp ('Cause it's the KING of CARP!)
I just thought of something. Instead of the classic short story, you get "Gift of the Magi-karp"

Magikarp's Japanese name is Koiking, so in the original all of his pokemon are -Kings.
