Seeing as my thread has been graced by the Duke himself, I should get things back in order.

A large portion of CH10 To Be Named has been settled. Oddly enough, the ending is what I decided on first. But before I start writing it, I've got some technical bits to work out for the early bits of the chapter. No idea on length, or an estimated time for completion yet, but when I do, you'll know.

Just a minor update saying that I've finished my cleanup work in Ch1-9 of small formatting errors and slipups. I've also corrected all dates mentioned to conform with EQ's new format.

Ch10 is almost done, planning wise, and I might get a real start on it today. Not only that, but plans for elsewhere in my story are shaping up.

Been getting sloppy with these update deals, but that's nothing new.

I have news on a few fronts this week. Chapter 10 of The Dark Type has a title, and is about 25% complete. Expect Chapter 10: Greater Things, the start of the 2nd main arc, somewhat soon.

On another note, I've errata'd a line in CH8: Stories:

I'm going to try and keep this regular and on schedule now that school's starting to wind down.

Wow, it's been a long time since someone's given me anything on that piece (so little exposure). I'm glad you enjoyed it, and hope you enjoy when Allan and Umari show up later in TDT. In unimportant news, I've finished cleaning up Unexpected Conflagration. Mostly formatting and style fixes, though a few bits were added and changed around a bit. Nothing warranting a re-read. It's still the same story. (Odd fact: UC now has a higher rating than TDT, but just over a fourth of the views? Now what does that say?)

Chapter 10 of TDT is slow going at the moment. I feel like I'm unsure on a lot of it (must be the two month long span of no writing. I'm out of practice). It'll get there. Finals week starts tomorrow though, so I'm almost in the clear.

That's right, folks! It's news time.

So, Here's the deal: Chapter 10's been split up, but you knew that already. But what you don't know is how each Part correlates with one another. So, here's an easy line of thought: Chapter 10 and the beginning of 11 happen concurrently, while the rest of 11 continues on (In my eyes, 10's just 1 big scene with a few breaks, where 11 is multiple things going on, over time). Don't worry, the shift will be easy to spot. The words 'yesterday' and 'day prior' are used to great affect.

As for the Chapters themselves...
Chapter 10 "Important Things" is completed.
Chapter 11 "Greater Things" is about halfway complete. Just two more scenes planned for that one.

Now, I think it's far enough along to say that my newest project, titled: "Vines of Deceit", will be posted before too long. It'll be before any of 10 or 11 reach you, I'm afraid. And chapters of VoD will be shorter than you're accustomed.

As for any sort of timetables you might be wanting, I'm hoping to get Chapter 11 done AND/OR VoD1 published before June 8th. However, everything is subject to delay, which I think you all have grown accustomed to by now.

I may post a snippet from one of CH10 or 11 if neither goals are meet. It's just finding the right bit

Yes, I missed my target date for getting VoD1 out to you all. It's still being edited. If it isn't out by later tonight, don't expect it anytime until after this weekend.

I know I said I would have a bit of one of the chapters in my next update, but I can't seem to find one bit to single out at the moment, so here's some summaries:

[The Dark Type]
Chapter 10 Important Things: A very technical, and in my opinion, boring chapter. Many things are explained. We learn the goal of Project Cartographer, as well as how Rikalia's been talking since CH6. And a new team member is acquired!

Chapter 11 Greater Things: Focusing on multiple fronts, we get a look at all the major players in the story. Allan and Umari depart from their home in Ecruteak, bound for Violet, and one of the more recognizable rival characters makes an appearance.

[Vines of Deceit]
Chapter 1 The Lie: No amount of planning can make one truly ready for everything. Good and bad surprises can come when you least expect them.

Chapter 2 The King in his Kingdom: Over the land, throughout the skies, and across the seas, The King watches, listens, and waits for the time when the two Heroes would rise again.

I want* to get these 4 chapters out this month, before July. Whether that'll be possible on either end, I have no clue. More news as it comes to you.

So, here we are at the end of June. Do I have 2 more chapters for you like I said? No. No, it seems my habit of trouncing all deadlines is sticking with me to the end. However, it should be noted that TDT11 and VoD2 are both roughly 75% complete, and should everything go as I want it, VoD2 will be finished today, and should be out to you in the next few days. Then I moved on to TDT11. And, just in case you thought VoD1 was a little short, VoD2 is already twice as long, looking to end up around 9000 words or less.

So, 1 part me being lazy, and 1 part thoughtfully editing where scenes are/are not placed (The scene that got axed will now open TDT12), TDT11: Greater Things is now completed. I'm giving it another look over, then it'll be ready for another's eyes to fix it up. Any takers from outside my usual editing circle?

Oh, and I should point out that VoD2: The King in his Kingdom has been complete for some time, and is in the editing process. However, it ended up being about three times longer than VoD1, so it's subject to be split up. Prepare accordingly.

If it seems like it's been well over a month since I last updated, you'd be 100% correct. It's been 30 days, and no one is more disappointed in that gap than me. Time's been prioritized differently this fall, and I'm just now getting used to the flow of it all. So for all of you who're are awaiting new pieces of my work, I am sorry, it will be a little longer.

However, there is a looming date reaching ever so close, September 20th, after which my time will be even more veered away from my writings, as much as it pains me to say it. With that being said, and despite this going against my normal pattern, I'll work my hardest to complete VoD4: Triple Threat in these 4 days remaining, and post that up without a 3rd party editor, who I may call upon at a later date.

After VoD4, my writing will take a new focus, if only for a short time, during a little experiment. You very well may see the results, and I'm particularly hopeful regarding it.

Aaand finished. Looks good, and I really liked your style of writing battles. It really kept the flow of the fast-paced action while manging to describe and/or explain some relatively tricky maneuvering on the combatants' parts. Cheren seems to be a bit more hotheaded than I expected of him, but I guess that's more about interpretation and artistic license than anything else. Heck, I think my own 'interpretation' of Cynthia, Cyrus... well a whole lot of 'established' and canonical characters doesn't quite match perfectly with their canonically established personalities or even histories. Alrighty then, thanks to Nona and Jabbz, I think I've cleared out a large portion of the errors in VoD4, but if anyone happens to come across any that I haven't fixed, please let me know.

So, it being almost exactly a month since I posted VoD4, I feel like I owe you guys an update.

After trying out a new planning technique, the outline for TDT12 is now complete (A bit lengthy, at 1200 words), and writing shall commence presently.

PS: Blame Gears of War for any delays, present, past and future.

Here's a quick update:

Of my outline's 107 points, merely 7 are accomplished. Granted, most are tiny notes about the chapter, I've still got a ways to go. But I'm well over 3500 words so far, not halfway done with one of three sections I've outlined for CH12. It's going to be a long one unless I split things up.

If you're looking for someone to blame for my lack of progress as of late, look to Bioware for making Mass Effect and sequel. But really, it's my fault.

Anyway, blame throwing isn't what I'm typing for. I'm typing to tell you all that I'm back into production mode here. I'd love to get TDT12 (or more) out this month. I'd also love to do better than only 8 chapters this year, but we'll just have to wait and see. These past two days have been filled with learning what Scrivener does and is, and organizing my documents therein. Today however, I write!

I'd gauge TDT 12 to be about 25% complete if I don't split it at all, but 65% done if I do.

I'm more than aware I left a similar promise unfulfilled last year, but I'm trying my damnedest to get TDT12 out to you before Jan. 24th, one week from now. After some clever orientating and content cuts (for now), TDT12 is now around 70% complete.

Allan's story is what I focus on when nothing interesting is going on with Iruni's. That, and I like what he's turning out to be (the dislikable/likable guy out for himself and his own goals). Not to say he's a complete ass and ignores things that are going on, but he'll need a lot of persuasion to sacrifice anything he holds dear to him.

I believe next chapter, we may see a gym battle.
