Couldn't think of a better picture, so yeah.
I guess anything Ragnarok-related goes in here now, I suppose.

I'll be sneaking back over here frequently now. Drop small little bits of the next chapter, ask to beta readers, you know, that kinda thing.

Yup.

Thought I'd swing in and give a minor update.

Yes, the main treason I had put this off for so long without update was due to other things going on that I had to put obligation over. Because of this, very little progress was done throughout the months of October and early November. I deeply apologize to those readers that have been waiting so patiently for the next chapter, but it was something that just had to be done.

Thanks to Iruni and other support, in the last three days, I've made huge jumps in my progress of Part II of the current Chapter. Part II, as of now, is about 75-80% complete in it's Beta form, and I'm going to attempt to complete this process and have the beta done by Friday night.

Even if worse comes to worse, expect my chapter update sometime mid-next week.

Thank you for being so patient with my slow update speed. I hope this chapter will entertain. :>

I just looked at the combined Part I & II of Chapter 18.

27, 276 Words @ 55 pages.
Jeez.

I should cut down on chapter size after this. That's just...ridiculous.

It wasn't that long :) I knocked it over in my half hour lunch break.

Still at work so I will give an in depth review when I get home tonight.

Spoiler: I loved it

That was fantastic. That you can write a fight scene that spans an entire chapter without it getting boring or tedious speaks volumes about your skill as an author.

Excellent job. The fight felt exciting the whole way through, and I was legitimately worried that a few of my favorite minor characters were gonna get the axe. Thankfully however, you are not Skyler, so my fears were unfounded. :P

Ragdoll likes chapter-spanning epic battles eh? Hehe...

On the topic of the chapter though, I thought it was funny, 'cause I came to the conclusion of "cut the windmills down" about a minute before I read that they actually were going to do so, but I hadn't even thought about the fact that the Drifloon were still around and capable of causing plenty of trouble. Great work all around, and I can't wait for more, particularly some explanation regarding Luna's alter-ego and whatever it is she does to defeat these undead guardians, and what the deal is with these things in the first place.

PS- I really like the garble-speak stuff, it adds an extra level of eeriness to the guardians but if you look long enough, it's still possible to understand what they're really saying.

This is really a great chapter. Easily one of my favorites so far. The two-front battle flowed well, and it didn't stick to one side for too long. I like that you didn't pull any punches on the casualties either, not that I like seeing redshirt trainers getting knocked off, but that it's good to see that people can die if they're not careful.

Yuki's a jack of all trades, and I'm damn sure she's got more in store. Her method of distracting the enemy is a testament to that.

Of all the fight scenes, I liked two the most:

Skai's such a goddamn badass, it's stupid! Powering through punches, headbutts, electrical shocks, and still manages to get hits in and regain his footing in seconds. You wouldn't pin Scyther to be so sturdy, but Skai just doesn't quit.

Koko's skill is rather surprising, considering her time on the team and overall personality. Seeing her fight so viciously was a nice change. Also, Koko using Faint Attack to 'teleport' in front of Luna to block that attack was damn genius.

I'm glad you decided to split Revelations, because otherwise, you might've been tempted to tone down this fight, and that's no good.

I can't wait for the next chapter, man. Mainly to see what's up with Luna now, and of course that ending... that ending man... fsjal.jpg

"xclEntle. heT yarpt si epsedtara. emTi orf eht ealr show..."

"Excellent. The party is separated. Time for the real show..."

>I think this is a intransitive/transitive problem. Should possibly be written as: "Excellent. The party has separated. Time for the real show..."

"The Flame Wheel disbursed, leaving a grounded, downed Monferno gasping for air."

>Should probably be dispersed there.

"she apologized to the helpless Pokemon before pulling him towards, yanking on the cord whenever the Drifloon struggled against her powerful might."

>"she apologized to the helpless Pokemon before pulling him towards (her/herself), yanking on the cord whenever the Drifloon struggled against her powerful might."

Those were all I found, nothing major. Well done broseph, I enjoyed the chapter immensely. Nothing like a good long battle. I hope to achieve something like this at some point later on, and this is a good example for me to learn from.

Characters were great, and so on. I can't really say more that hasn't been said already. So just feel good about how it was a worthwhile read. I'll catch you later.

Chapter 19: Dynamic Sentinel, is now in it's post-outline stage. Hopefully, if it's in the cards, I should have this chapter pumped out very soon. Hopefully in the next week, even.

So stay tuned for any new information.
I may also start doing a weekly update as well, updating every Saturday so as to let you know that (1) I'm not dead, and (2) Ragnarok is still going.

Until next time, toodles. :)
>> No. 2235 ID: 665072
First update so far.

I think I've done myself a good job so far. I've just about written down and edited about 40% of the chapter.

Expect Chapter 19 to come in two parts as well, due to the current length of the writing so far (almost 10K).

Sorry if this seems short, but it's with good reason: I sprained my left hand recently, and it's almost completely useless at the moment, so typing is taking nearly three times as long.

In any case, expect some nice new scenes of K/Luna interaction in this section. I enjoyed typing it out. :)
>> No. 2250 ID: 665072
Been a week, and I've been going through all kinds of hell to pump out the current chapter I'm working on.

It's about 80% done at the moment, so sit tight for another week. I should have it out before this time next week.

And to encourage some conversation in here, I suppose I'll ask you readers a question:

Q: Who is currently your least favorite character? Why (if you want)?

You can be as harsh as you want with the answer. It'll help me to improve on the quality of the story otherwise.

Hope this stirs up some type of conversation. I dislike seeing this small slice of /canalave/ dead. :p

Well, since I'm pretty far into the story now, I might as well start giving my two cents (I'll put up a proper review once I'm all caught up).

Since you asked about characterization, I find no character is 'unlikable' in the sense that it's bad at characterization. I definitely hate some characters, but in the good way. I'm gonna have to say you're A-okay with it all.
>> No. 2275 ID: e7c313
Well, I'm updating a day late because I was out for the entirety of Saturday.

Just got my beta for Chapter 19 Part I back to me, so expect it up sometime tonight. Part II is going to be significantly shorter, so there's plenty of possibility for it to be out by the end of next week if I manage to buckle down and really work on it, so look forward to that.

That's it for this update.

Oh, and :< because the discussion on my last question didn't go anywhere.

Perhaps an easier question to answer?
Q: What would you like to see in Ragnarok? What do you expect to happen in the near future?
>> No. 2276 ID: a5e697
>>2275

>What would you like to see in Ragnarok?

I'm a reader of little demans (is demans what you were looking for :B?). Although it could use a little more cowbell!

>What do you expect to happen in the near future?

How can that be an easy question?

(I actually had this discussion with Jabbz not too long ago; the ridiculous theories we conjured up would attest to how we have no way to guess accurately what's going to happen).
>> No. 2277 ID: 3bff9c

Like Spog said, there's little I can really ask to see in Ragnarok. Now, that's just me being realistic. If I wanted, I'd be spouting demands for Giratina VS Rayquaza fights. But in all seriousness, I'd like to see more of what Blue and his group do.

As for what I think is going to happen: I think a lot of things are going to happen. I think Gold and Red's confrontation will be interesting. I think Flannery's role will eventually come back and be important. And I think my least favorite character might eventually be out of the 'regular character' line up.

PS: My least favorite character is Jerry.

Giratina vs. Rayquaza DOES sound pretty awesome. Blue's little Mezzanotte is going to be seen here and there, so don't worry too much about him. As for Gold and Red? Oh boy.

M'kay, excerpt of Skype chat with Jabbz (it'll probably be better than a review in some cases; for some reason it's just difficult for me to sit there and think of criticisms; they come easier when I'm just babbling with another person):

[1/15/2011 1:55:40 PM] Stephen Strong: oh yeah, in regard's to Espy's Red; total asshole
[1/15/2011 1:55:57 PM] Stephen Strong: seems like a power hungry maniac to me; I actually hate him more than Cyrus
[1/15/2011 1:56:09 PM] Stephen Strong: at least Cyrus has a personality
[1/15/2011 1:56:30 PM] the42jabberwocky: he's hateable yes
[1/15/2011 1:56:39 PM] the42jabberwocky: but he's so damn bad ass it doesn't matter
[1/15/2011 1:57:12 PM] Stephen Strong: I hope he gets destroyed. I don't think humans should be that powerful, even if they acheive that power fair and square on their lonesome
[1/15/2011 1:58:29 PM] the42jabberwocky: I think Red's existance in Rag is to be exactly that. Far to powerful for his own good.
[1/15/2011 1:58:30 PM] Stephen Strong: an American civillian can have an assault rifle, and even that's restricted semi-auto; but letting him have a nuke? Who would let any schumch have a nuke?
[1/15/2011 1:58:49 PM] Stephen Strong: schmuck*
[1/15/2011 1:59:40 PM] the42jabberwocky: Red is bound by High Noon though. He may be a human super weapon, but he has his limits. If High Noon targeted him, he would be destroyed. So he acts like a good little overpowered demigod and does what he's told.
[1/15/2011 2:01:11 PM] the42jabberwocky: Though looking at how Rag is going, High Noon will be kaput in a small amount of time. Meaning once Red has nothing to worry about any more... he'll probably just run around nuking things because he can.
[1/15/2011 2:01:29 PM] the42jabberwocky: Chasing after more and more power
[1/15/2011 2:02:18 PM] Stephen Strong: Yes, but even he wouldn't be able to stand the Purple Stuph. Cyrus could use him totally if he got the chance
[1/15/2011 2:02:31 PM] Stephen Strong: Red will be a headcrab zombie!
[1/15/2011 2:03:05 PM] the42jabberwocky: lol... you realize that Red's powers would probably just scare the stuff away... or outright kill it in his vacinity.
[1/15/2011 2:03:19 PM] Stephen Strong: the shit seems potent to me
[1/15/2011 2:03:28 PM] Stephen Strong: maybe he'd be able to resist it for a while
[1/15/2011 2:03:33 PM] Stephen Strong: but it'd eventually ware him down
[1/15/2011 2:03:35 PM] Stephen Strong: it's unnatural
[1/15/2011 2:03:50 PM] Stephen Strong: even though Red's power itself seems unnatural, it is when you think about it
[1/15/2011 2:03:56 PM] Stephen Strong: Snowball effect
[1/15/2011 2:04:07 PM] Stephen Strong: it isn't*
[1/15/2011 2:04:24 PM] the42jabberwocky: I dunno
[1/15/2011 2:04:32 PM] Stephen Strong: yeah, it's all speculation anyway
[1/15/2011 2:04:38 PM] the42jabberwocky: being able to straigh smash a Legendary into a wall
[1/15/2011 2:04:46 PM] Stephen Strong: I cannot fathom what is going to happen in that story lol
[1/15/2011 2:04:56 PM] the42jabberwocky: yeah
[1/15/2011 2:05:07 PM] the42jabberwocky: its probably not going to have a happy ending
[1/15/2011 2:05:22 PM] the42jabberwocky: given how since the very beginning, things have been falling apart
[1/15/2011 2:05:35 PM] Stephen Strong: it's already implied that Luna is some sort of fragment of a god in dormancy
[1/15/2011 2:05:48 PM] the42jabberwocky: yes, true
[1/15/2011 2:06:06 PM] the42jabberwocky: but looking back at how the purplestuph ate arceus
[1/15/2011 2:06:07 PM] Stephen Strong: in fact I'd say it's fairly obvious unless Espy has some sort of twist in his sleave
[1/15/2011 2:06:23 PM] the42jabberwocky: that probably won't matter much
[1/15/2011 2:06:52 PM] Stephen Strong: well hye, it's like you just said. If the purplestuph can eat Arceus it can eat anyone
[1/15/2011 2:07:19 PM] Stephen Strong: or maybe it was just that particular strain from way back then
[1/15/2011 2:07:43 PM] Stephen Strong: because if it was the original strain Cyrus had now, he wouldn't have any control over it
[1/15/2011 2:08:07 PM] Stephen Strong: it would be powerful enough to nom everything and everyone around it
[1/15/2011 2:08:18 PM] the42jabberwocky: well from what we've seen
[1/15/2011 2:08:36 PM] the42jabberwocky: purple stuph goes dormant depending on the persons will
[1/15/2011 2:08:48 PM] the42jabberwocky: if the person has immense will and control
[1/15/2011 2:08:51 PM] the42jabberwocky: it does nothing
[1/15/2011 2:08:59 PM] the42jabberwocky: and the person can use its power
[1/15/2011 2:09:09 PM] the42jabberwocky: while if that persons will falters
[1/15/2011 2:09:16 PM] the42jabberwocky: it starts infecting and eating them
[1/15/2011 2:09:27 PM] the42jabberwocky: its kind of like a trained pirana

[1/15/2011 2:13:42 PM] the42jabberwocky: on that one

[1/15/2011 2:14:11 PM] the42jabberwocky: that or K is just a bastard that likes to gamble with everything
[1/15/2011 2:14:32 PM] the42jabberwocky: I mean... he obviously has the purple stuph in him, and is able to control it too
[1/15/2011 2:14:42 PM] the42jabberwocky: he's such a loose canon its hard to tell
[1/15/2011 2:14:52 PM] the42jabberwocky: He might just be playing games with the world in general
[1/15/2011 2:15:06 PM] Stephen Strong: ohh, maybe he's actually the purple stuph itself; the intelligent form
[1/15/2011 2:15:07 PM] the42jabberwocky: and wagering on Noah and Luna rather than someone else
[1/15/2011 2:15:11 PM] Stephen Strong: Like the Gravemind

I loved the hell out of that post. Very fun to read through. Thanks for taking the time to post it! <3

As for the next chapter, I've been working on it, but I'm struggling to sit down and really make some heavy progress. I should have time to type some more of the chapter out tonight, so I should inch closer to completion as next week crawls along.

Quick update. Don't have too much time to converse about it.

I've been making strides here and there now that the school schedule is calming down. I'm hoping to have the next half of the chapter out by this time next weekend.

Sucks that my goal wasn't achieved though, but I'll still do what I can to keep the chapter progress rolling.

I guess another random question: What Pokemon would you like to see most appear as a significant character?

>What Pokemon would you like to see most appear as a significant character?

Well, the Pokemon character I'm most interested in besides Luna is Skai; the reason being he doesn't speak much/has no detailed back story from his perception. We only know very small details of him through what Lynus says. It'd be neat to know a little bit more about him; not knowing if you were going to open up on that in the future or not.

Although I'm also open to the possibility that there actually isn't much to him other than his loyalty and concern for Lynus.

Took me long enough, didn't it? Well, here's a review for CH19 Part 1.

Old Uncle Masky is as cryptic and creepy (similar words, probably a coincidence, though you never ignore a coincidence...) as ever. Really enjoy his scenes. I wonder who the face on all those coins were that Luna almost recognized... And the way K said "the odds of getting so many heads in a row...of this nature" makes me wonder if they're meant to be something more than a game. And I've got my theories bubbling about who his frowny-face personality is.

I really hope we get a good look at/explanation of Luna's old memories. A lot of the things she's feeling sad about don't really match with anything we've seen before, unless I'm not connecting the right dots.

And bees. Bees everywhere...

In all seriousness, good work as always, Espy. Things are set up so these next chapters look to be very interesting.

151's downtime made it impossible to update.

Anyways, the chapter is still being produced. It's looking pretty short in comparison to its companion chapter, but I'm hoping people enjoy the content.

It's getting pretty heated.

Well, update's a little late, but yeah.

The beta is complete. Expect the final version to be completed by this week.

Here you go guys, have fun:

And if you guys don't ever bother looking at my author page, I actually do leave a teaser regarding the next chapter. However, I'll start posting them here whenever the last chapter is updated:

If you want to avoid semi-spoilers, then don't read below!

***Next: Chapter 20: Máxima de Sol***
Celebi comes to serve Noah on behalf of his parents, but with his emotions already riding high thanks to Luna, anything can and will happen.

I loved the bluntness of Luna when she admitted her attraction to Noah. It was pretty funny, her responses to his...'dumbstruckedness'. I have to admit the typical confessions-that-take-fifty-chapters get rather weary after a while; that's why I like Luna in general so much. Totally forward, for the most part.

tl;dr - yay new chap is win lolz

Not entitled "Weekly" because, well...it wasn't within the span of the last week's update.

So yeah, I took a little tiny break from working on Chapter 20 to focus on school and whatnot (the last two weeks have been exam after exam after exam), and the entire issue was taxing on my mind. Adding that up to family stuff, and other obligations I have, it proved difficult to ever really sit down and work on the next chapter.

I finally managed to clear up my schedule, but now Pokemon White is out.

In any case, the outline and some of the beta should be down by tonight, but nothing much more than just that. I apologize for the inconsistencies I have with my updates, but it's the best I can manage at the moment.

In any case, I can share a little something here or there with you guys:

The next chapter doesn't go into much detail concerning the literal behavior of the Sol Family, but it really puts into perspective how ridiculously important Richard and Vivian are to the plot as a whole.

High Noon, The Regional Split, and even The Pillars all practically revolve around their influence, and through a little "testimony" by our new little friend from the end of Chapter 19, we will finally grasp exactly what it was that those two were planning up until the day they passed.

So, anyone have any thoughts, questions, or hell, even discussion (relevant or not)?

It's been so long. Procrastination murders me. In any case, I've made little progress on Chapter 20. I'm about 33% done with the initial draft, so if I can really pour more effort into it this week, I should be able to have it out sometime before the end of next week.

I'll do what I can.

Only one thing can sum up the new chapter...

...

In all seriousness though, at least Noah managed to get a proper goodbye from his dad. Strong scene.

Also, Red's a cunt. Fuck him.

Oh hey! Ragnarok! Hmm. Rag, or programming assignment due on Tuesday?

...

Ragnarok! Yay! Norse Apocalypses!

...

This lemon. What. What? This isn't the time or mood or atmosphere for that!

...

And Gold gets some screentime!

Hoooooly shit. I swear, you never disappoint, Espy; fantastic work from start to finish.

Only one small thing I noticed, which is more of a nitpick than anything else: The word "petit" is actually the masculine form of the word in French. For the feminine, you would use "petite", which is also the correct usage of the word in English, as "petit" in English refers to something, usually a disagreement, that is small or petty.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. And I'll make sure to watch out for that in the future, Nona. Thanks again.

@Psy: Ever hear the phrase, "pity fuck"?

You know my thoughts on this, but I'm fine with repeating them if you are!

This chapter's fantastic on all accounts. All things start to come together, and the lack of Jerry is good too.

Thanks again for yhe great read, Espy. Hope to see more soon.

Been awhile, hasn't it?
I don't have a new chapter up just yet. Another project + work has been keeping me mighty busy.

However, I'm getting ready to change gears once again. I'll be working on Ragnarok for the rest of the month. Hopefully I can have the chapter complete by the end of July.
