Yeah we've had that thing for ages. I think we got our first Gateway in 2000, so 10 years now. We use it to store like the MS Works Suite CD's.

There's my magical little corner. That good ol' Chair is quite a soldier, several pieces of it have broken but it still holds up my rearside.

The day that chair breaks while I'm in IRC is imminent.

Dear Stu: Please get a new chair. A poor desktop setup is forgivable, but your internet experiences (or post internet aftermath) must be miserable. Your internet time should be a sort of vacation.
Anyway, hell yeah Poliwhirl. And the subtle video game bits on the right are intriguing. Let's make a VG setup thread!

Why thank you Red. The "R" you see is a team rocket dog tag that my friend got me at a local game shop. Also you'll notice a copy of the Oregon Trail 3rd Edition on the floor there. I don't think it works on windows 7 though, which is a shame.

New house, new computer, and now a new picture!
And the Windows Experience Index numbers are as follows:
Processor: 7.6
Memory: 7.9
Graphics: 7.8
Gaming graphics: 7.8
Primary hard disk: 5.9

u jelly?
>> No. 1824

The Windows Experience Index really is a useless tool for determining system performance. Not only have certain drivers and hardware been known to "unfairly enhance" the score (since the results are just stored in a text file), the numbers themselves are almost entirely arbitrary. If my memory score is 3.1, does that mean I need more RAM or faster RAM to upgrade my score? Not to mention the fact that every decent mechanical hard drive scores 5.9 whether it be a 40GB 5200rpm 2MB cache disk or a 2.5TB 7200rpm 64MB cache powerhouse. Even a supercomputer with 4 of those latter drives IN RAID 0 will score 5.9 overall.

It's alright for at-a-glance e-peen checking but it's entirely useless for any sort of real spec comparison.

>>1824
I hear you will get a better hard drive number if you have a Solid-state drive though.
