What is /emu/?
/emu/ is a board for discussing emulators, ROMs and for help with issues involving the two.

What are some good emulators?
There are lots of great emulators out there, but for convinience, I will list the ones which are generally thought to be the best for each console.

GB/GBA: Virtual Boy Advance.
DS: NO$GBA
N64:Project64
GC/Wii: Dolphin (Currently the only emulator that can successfully emulate most GC and Wii games)

If you do not like these particular emulators, or are looking for an emulator for a console which does not have Pokemon, don't worry, a list of known video game emulators is here.

Great, can I have links to some ROMs now?
Nope. Simply because it's illegal. If you want to find a ROM, use Google or something, but legally, we can't link to ROM downloads or we may face the banhammer. The HG/SS ROM thread is an exception, since it is not currently on the market. You can make a thread and ask for people to send you a link through your e-mail since then, that is your own personal business and 151chan will not be held responsible.

How do I use an .isp patch?
1. Download.
2. Place in a file with the ROM it is patching.
3. Both the .ips and ROM have to have the exact same name.
4. Play ROM as normal, the patch should work.

My GBA game won't save...help!
If on VBA, this should work, if you are using any other emulator and it doesn't, make a thread.
Options>Emulator>Save Type>Flash 128K.

I made a hack! Can I post a link to it?
Only if it is in .isp format. As I said before, we do not host illegal content such as ROMs. We encourage user to post any creative or intuitive changes they have made to a game.

Can I talk about other emulated games other than pokemon?
Sure, but try to keep it all in one thread if possible. Although we endorse any kind of constructive conversation, we must remind you that this is a pokemon board. Please treat it as such.
