Dark/Flying? Dark - nocturnal. Flying ... it doesn't fly, so maybe it wouldn't be able to learn Fly. It'd have a very small height and weight. I used to have a sugar glider as a pet. Very bad idea - mega maintenance.

This is the current thread for such a thing. I was thinking of having Meowth/Persian (and Purugly and the other one... maybe Entei and Raikou) have unique items like Cubone has Thick Club. It'd be catnip. Catnip would make it confused, but raise it's Attack and Special Attack, or something similar.

Tauros' point is that it's very similar in design to an already existing line of Pokemon; Combee and Vespiquen.
This is the problem people have with Minun, Plusle, Pachirasu, etc. They may be different Pokemon, but they're essentially rehashes of the same general design.

All of this having been said, I'm all for a Goat or Panda. Maybe Rock/Fighting or Normal/Fighting depending on if it's a mountain goat or a billy goat. For the panda, I'd say Fighting/Grass. Just for clarification, Spinda is a red panda; and Snorlax is more based on Totoro than anything else.
Oh, and as much as I would like to see it done, I know it won't happen. A tanuki. Giant balls and everything.

They've been rehashing designs since the very beginning. In fact, I think Gen. 1 reused designs more than any other generation. For example, the Nidos, Rhydon, and Kangaskhan all have the same general idea to their shape. And Clefairy/Clefable and Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff look really similar.
That being said, it does annoy me that Pikachu, Plusle, Minun, and Pachirisu are really obviously pretty much the same goddamn thing. Seriously, they didn't even try to hide it by giving them different types. The only Pikachu clone that they gave a different type is Marill, and that one has other thing that make it a lot like Pikachu. For example, it started out as a two-stage evolution Pokemon and was given a baby pre-evo in the following generation. Plus, we all thought it was a blue Pikachu when it was first revealed.

For one, I'd like to see a better spider pokemon. There's like four or five pokemon based on the BAGWORM, but only one (unfortunately shitty) spider pokemon. A poison centipede would be cool too.

There's a few well-known and common animals that don't really have pokemon equivalents. For example, there are a couple dog pokemon and a hyena pokemon, but no obvious wolf pokemon. Chipmunks don't seem to be represented. Dolphins. Barnacles could make a good pokemon, maybe. Did they have a zebra? I don't think so... Maybe like an ice zebra as a counterpart to rapidash's fire horse?

A pokemon based on living garbage like the jewish garbage pile lady in Fraggle Rock.

Most importantly, though, an ELECTRIC EEL POKEMON, PEOPLE. I MEAN COME ON! I know they've already got Lanturn as a water/electric, but an electric eel is an arguably better implementation of the concept, and anyway, there's no reason you can't have two.
